a few years ago i was extremely fortunate enough to be asked to create a portfolio site for irena komadinic, an amazing artist who i am in constant awe of.  at the time, what i created fit the needs she had for the site and i was really proud of it.  you can see the results of that site here.

well times change, people change, sites need to change as well.  i have been really looking forward to redesigning irena’s website, and over the last few weeks have tortured myself with endless layout ideas, tweaks, redos, trashing everything, starting over, blah blah blah…

what i’ve ended up with is really what i believe to be some of my best work yet.  even better, irena seems to be really happy with it which is what really matters.  creating a site that is fresh and new is daunting enough but creating one that accurately captures the calibre of art that irena creates was the most nerve-wracking.

in the end i’ve done away with the old flash based site, and moved into a completely custom site propped up by wordpress and hand-coded from scratch with html, css, & jQuery amongst others.

RavenEyeVintage.com is the future home of Lisa Terry and her custom clothing.  now i’ll be the first to admit i know nothing about fashion, but i do know talent when i see it and trust me, she’s got it.

i’m not going to give anything away about what to expect, but i will say i’m very excited to be given the chance to create a site for her.  hopefully there will be more to update you on in the next week or two, but for now, go bookmark the site and stay tuned!

“It is illustrated for the enjoyment of all children and it is written so that primary aged children can read it easily. The paintings show a tree as it changes from one beautiful season to the next. The paintings also show birds and children and their activities in each of the four seasons.”

I created this site for the book’s promotion.  it’s a simple one page layout that includes a jQuery slider for the content, newsletter signup, and image previews of the book.

not only is this an extremely well-written and illustrated book, but also, the proceeds from the sale of the book go to help Autism research and awareness.  i’m very proud to have worked on a site for such a good cause.

he’s worked with everyone from same roberts to nsync to ben folds five…and many many more.

ian already had a site set up based on a flash template.  for this job i had to tweak elements of the flash file and actionScript to his liking.  a possible css/html5 redesign is being considered at the moment but for now, check out his site.
