Born in Oakville, Ontario, Lauren was raised in the quaint Victorian town of Paris. Growing up in such a small town was the perfect springboard for what Miss Roy dreamed of accomplishing. With her then unrefined, but natural talent for the stage, she was backed by the overwhelming support of the community.

After years of training in music and theater, Lauren blossomed into a vibrant, charismatic performer you can’t stand to take your eyes off of. Her effortless stage presence has always been her forte.

In her teenage years, Miss Roy expanded her horizons and formed what would later become a defining influence in her career. With her newly established jazz quintet, she began to perform as a jazz vocalist, eventually gracing the stages of some of Toronto’s most renowned jazz clubs.

However, Roy always had more than one iron in the fire. Although her heart was pulled in several directions, she found a balance that would allow her to follow her love of the old standards, as well as her passion for the main stage. At the age of 17, Lauren landed her first professional lead role as the ingénue in the original Toronto based production of Stardust Follies. Although offered a coveted spot and scholarship at a Toronto performing arts school, she chose to take the role, and pursue her training in a non-academic setting. Constantly refining her talents with vocal and acting lessons, Roy became a true student of her own craft.

After landing the starring role in The Chair, a Toronto based feature film, Lauren discovered yet another avenue she intended to pursue. Since its premiere at the 2007 Montreal World Film Festival, the film has scooped up numerous awards on both the Canadian and American festival circuits, and is now awaiting its confirmation of distribution.

Miss Roy was recently swept off to Montreal, where she is currently pursuing all avenues of her exciting career. Her recent credits include Felice, a 1920’s vixenous starlet in the wildly successful, original musical Houdini, several roles in a variety of independent films, and a breakthrough on the world-renowned Montreal jazz scene.

Having said to be blessed with “a natural talent, charm, and poise beyond her years, Miss Roy literally glistens with vitality when she's on stage”. It is so clearly evident that she enjoys nothing more, as her radiant personality shines through in every move, word and note.
